Volunteering
Volunteering is defined as any activity that is not an essential part of any courses, is not paid and is of benefit to others. As such, this covers quite a lot.
Volunteering includes:
- Involvement in awards such as Duke of Edinburgh
- Helping in community groups or with individuals
- School service
- Gap Year opportunities
Volunteering experience is a very important facet in applying for work, an apprenticeship or a place on a college or university course. Volunteering helps demonstrate that individuals that developed key employability skills.
